Sessions in person in Picton and online

Your first visit

What to expectwhen you come in.

The first session is more like a two-way interview. Please fill in the intake form before we meet.

01

See what working together is like

The first meeting is treated like a therapy session. You start with what brings you in, and we get a feel for whether this is the right fit.

02

Start building the relationship

I'll ask about your concerns and your history: family, childhood, career and other events. You're welcome to ask me questions too. The quality of our relationship matters more to how therapy goes than anything else.

You can expect

  • Compassion, empathy and respect.
  • Someone who listens to your own reading of what you are going through.
  • A safe, supportive and confidential space.
  • Room to ask me questions too.

Since 2020

Taking stockafter the pandemic.

Many people lost skills, loved ones, careers, relationships, income or focus. Talking it through can help you understand how you feel and start relating to others again. These are some of what people have been struggling with:

  • Social isolation
  • Lack of energy
  • Difficulty focusing
  • Memory loss
  • Sense of purpose
  • Fear

Confidentiality

What you say stays between us.

Sessions are confidential, and nothing is shared without your written consent. Consent depends on being capable of giving it rather than on age. By law, there are a few exceptions where I must act:

  • I suspect abuse of a child, a dependent adult or an elder, or I learn of domestic abuse.
  • Someone has caused, or is threatening, serious bodily harm to another person.
  • You intend to harm yourself and we cannot resolve it safely in session.
